A-Line Extra: Bennett Vows Faster Tempo
05/06/2009
New Hoo basketball coach Tony Bennett vowed to speed up his tempo. Speaking to a gathering of Hoo basketball and music fans, Bennett addressed concerns that his style might be too slow to appeal to today’s audiences and players. “Sure, I made my reputation with syrupy ballads,” said Bennett, adding, “But let me tell you, I can rock with the best of them. How about Stepping Out? Does that boogie or what?”
Hoo AD Craig ‘Tubby, how about that cool jazz?’ Littlepage applauded Bennett’s decision to speed things up. However, Littlepage cautioned Bennett against performing ‘Stepping Out,’ saying, “We have enough problems in the Smithsonian and the John with fans doing just that. “

I’m hearing Andy Williams. The Hoos’ new entrance music will be ‘Days of Wine and Roses.’

I’ve witnessed that ‘stepping out’ thing at both the John and Scott venues before. It is a sight to behold, especially against the Hokies!
