Week 3

Nebraska- Virginia Tech

Tom- Another week and another match up between Top 25 teams.  Seems this is getting to be a habit for this Tech team.  Hopefully things turn out just a little better than they did in Atlanta.  Tech

Kevin- Got tickets?  Got parking? Got corn? Got Virgil and Boone?  Geez, I sure hope so.  Hokies show hospitality during the tailgate, but not on the field.  Not sure if Tyrod will turn his career TD/INT ratio past 1 this week, but the RBs should WOW 'em.  Tech

Jay- I’m worried about Tech’s tendency to give up the long ball but the Hokies should be able to run on Nebraska and win by 10.

Vip- So is Virginia Tech's offense the three-and-out machine we saw in Atlanta, or the bulldozer spotted last Saturday in Blacksburg?  The truth is somewhere in between.  We'll have a better read after Saturday.  VT wins 28-20

Ivan- they were nice to us in lincoln, so i'm not gonna to belittle poor basterds. welcome to bburg. tech.

Paul- This game makes me a little nervous, but I can't pick against the Hokies. The Bugeaters from Nowledge College head back home to 'braskey with an L. HOKIES!!!

Curmudgeon- Nebraska isn't Marshall.  It's going to be close, very close, but I must go with the good guys.  VT

John- Hokies by a field goal - this one is going to be close and low scoring - VT

Jim- Tech's schedule so far: ranked team, rank team, ranked team. The Huskers ain't the Herd, but they ain't the Tide, either. Tech wins. 

Georgia Tech- Miami

Tom- Getting lucky at home against Clemson was one thing, getting lucky in the Orange Bowl is something different.  Canes

Kevin- Thanks anyway, Atlantic Division challengers, but one of these guys should be able to do the heavy Coastal lifting to the other.  The Canes don't have a disciplined D, which should concern their fans against Johnson's offense, but Shannon has had a week and a half to prepare.  That may even count for something.  Jackets lose.

Jay- I’ll take the ACC’s best team: Georgia Tech. WRONG!

Vip- Miami has been GT's bitch for some time now.  Jacory Harris looked pretty damn good against the Noles.  UM wins 31-27.

Ivan- atlanta polytech will try hard. beach pigeons will too. it should be a good one.  pigeons.

Paul- Miami has the talent, but do they have the discipline? Yes. Canes

Curmudgeon- This is another close one.  I'll go with the home team.  Miami

John- Toss-up game.  Miami keeps the "dream" alive.

Jim- The Canes are due to beat the Jackets. Maybe they will. Canes win.

Virginia- Southern Miss

Tom- The algroh Death Watch moves from Watch to Warning.  We will miss him when he's gone.  Golden Eagles

Kevin- Nothing like the friendly confines of an AWAY venue to silence the boos, eh Al?  We're cheering for you in Blacksburg, big guy.  Keep fighting the good fight.  Live to coach another day.  He's like the wind.  We believe.  Miss Southern

Jay- Whoever’s is playing UVA not named Duke

Vip- Hattiesburg, Mississippi is not the place to play when you're trying to turn things around.  No amount of NFL coaching experience will help here.  USM wins 21-10.

Ivan-  there's just no other way to put it... directional owls will beat the crap out of surrender monkeys. hey al! you stay positive, okay?

Paul- With a loss here, UVa is well on their way to an 0-12 season. Eagles of Gold

Curmudgeon- The Hooskies are going to win at some point this season.  Is this the game?  I say not.  SMIss Eagles

John- Why stop now?  Regular beatings will continue until morale improves. Golden Eagle droppings festoon algroh's hoodie.

Jim-  The Dead Legend Walking takes his bunch on the road. They will be booed less. Eagles win. 

East Carolina- North Carolina

Tom- The weauxfing on the Boneyard is intense but traveling Strawgraspers are losing Strawgraspers - Heels

Kevin- Certainly the shine is off of this one after last week's collective showing.  Perhaps if Skip can upset Butch, he'll get some serious glances from Hooville.  Nah, we love Al.  Heels D wins it.

Jay- Tarheels, barely.

Vip- Why not split the difference and play this one in NorthEast Carolina?  Is there a stadium in Nags Head?  UNC-CH wins 34-14.

Ivan-  lol, the battle for the state's strawgrasping rights. lovely! har tills win.

Paul- The Strawgraspers show they aren't quite ready for the big time. Heels.

Curmudgeon- The Baby Blues got mighty lucky Saturday. Will not need luck Sat.  North Carolina aka Baby Blue U

John- Tempted to pick the Easties in this match of the "directional" Carolinas, but, nah... uNc

Jim-  Another 'BCS game' for the Strawgraspers. Heels win.

Duke- Kansas

Tom- This would be better if they were playing basketball.  Rock chalk or whatever

Kevin-  So much for momentum, Cut.  Over/under on the experts mentioning a hoops angle in their write-up is 8.  Chalk

Jay- Kansas, duh!

Vip- A hell of a Final Four matchup.  Less so on the gridiron.  KU wins 34-10.

Ivan- good thing blue dumbbells have medical school, they'll need it. jaywarts will turn duck-of-death into death-of-duck.

Paul- Big win for Duke last week...but not enough momentum to carry through. 'Hawks.

Curmudgeon- Unfortunately for Duke, Kansas isn't Army.  Rock Chalk, JayHawk  Kansas

John- Dookies keep the ball rolling, scoring a major upset on the road.  Oops, wrong universe ... 'hawks

Jim- Why was this game scheduled? KU wins.

Boston College- Clemson

Tom- This is not a good time to be traveling into Death Valley and it's never a good time to be Fredo.  Tigers

Kevin-  And then reality hit Spaz and Co.  The beginning of the end of the year.  Dabo

Jay- Clemson wins but BC covers the 7,

Vip- Whenever I think life is tough being a Hokie fan, I look southward to Clemson.  If I rooted for the Tigers, I would be hooked on valium by now.  CU wins 24-20.

Ivan- hmmm...  nice pair...  for me to poop on!  red sox elimentery.WRONG!

Paul- Clemson...because Fredo sucks.

Curmudgeon- Clemson did good coming back Sat.  I'm not sure what Fredo has in cubbard.  at home  Clemson

John- Cadiddle-hoppers win one for their fans.  Clem

Jim- Fredo starts amassing the frequent flyer miles for this year. Clem wins.

Florida State- BYU

Tom- Someone is going to fall further behind JoePa in the win derby.  MormonsWRONG!

Kevin-  I've seen enough on both sides.  No dirty dancing in Utah.  MormonsWRONG!

Jay- BYUWRONG!

Vip- If the Mormons can knock out F$Us QB, they may have a chance.  Something to Ponder, I guess.  Mormons win 38-33.WRONG!

Ivan- latter day saints will find out how gen. custer felt during his chance encounter with the natives.  geronimo!

Paul- The ACC takes another shot on the chin this week as the Mormons take out the 'noles.WRONG!

Curmudgeon- As much as F$U struggled against Jacksonville State, not sure they will survive in the high plains.  Mormons of BYUWRONG!

John- Mormons' good fortune continues as Quetzalcoati sacrifices some 23 y.o. virgins to fuel a late rallyWRONG!

Jim- 'Almost there,' Bobby? FSU wins.

Tennessee- Florida

Tom- Not much hope for the Vols since there coach is such a moron.  This should have been the RUTS game.  Crocs by a bunch

Kevin-  Judgment Day comes early.  This could even qualify for RUTS, but then a certain coach would have to report a rule violation to the NCAA.  Crocs

Jay- Gators roll but Puke Orange plus 29 looks good to me.

Vip- This could be the RUTS to end all RUTS if Urban gets half a chance.  Usually when the buildup is like this, the game is nothing as advertise.  Let's split the difference.  UF wins 41-7.

Ivan- last week was about ursas gaving volkssturm their stalingrad moment. this week is about encirclement and surrender.  crocs.

Paul- If the Gators can score 100 they likely will. There is no love lost among these programs. Crocs.

Curmudgeon- Kiffen finds out what it's like to run with the Big Dogs this week.  Florida

John- uhh, Florida, duh.

Jim- Layla might want to bag this one to catch some rays, Lane. Crocs win. 

Texas Tech- Texas

Tom- Payback time.  Horns

Kevin-  Where is that QB and WR now? Horns get revenge.

Jay- Texass

Vip- Steers and queers, I guess.  UT-Austin wins 38-31.

Ivan- ten-gallon-hat standoff.  bevo.

Paul- No last second miracle this year. Texas

Curmudgeon- Me thinks the TT offense may be mostly out of bullets this year.  Texas

John- This is the year the Techies de-throne the 'horns, right?  LOL, no, "hook 'em. Horns"

Jim- It was fun while it lasted, eh, Leach? Horns win.

Utah- Oregon

Tom- After watching them struggle against Purdue last week, I'd almost be willing to pick the Utes.  Ducks

Kevin-  Ducks leave the fisticuffs at the Road House. Utes in a mild road upset. WRONG!

Jay- Ah, the Ducks are at home and that makes all the difference. Quack!

Vip- Utes win at Autzen, 31-30.WRONG!

Ivan- hwho? hwhat? huh? ducts of o-region.

Paul- Ducks by a FG.

Curmudgeon- Gut says Oregon, but maybe that's just indigestion.  I'll go with the secular Mormons of Utah.WRONG!

John- Mighty Ducks woes continue, falling at home to the Utes.WRONG!

Jim- Any plans to show up for the season, Ducks? Oregon wins.

Tom- How many tune up games does Bama get?  Bama by 39

Kevin-  Tide has the time of their life to the tune of 27.

Jay- Bama by 35.

Vip- 'Bama has had two weeks to recover from their Hokie Hangover.  Bad news for the not-so-mean Green.  UA wins 45-7.

Ivan- thank-you-come-again. bummer by 45.WIN!

Paul- Alabama by 28.

Curmudgeon- With VT two weeks in the rear view mirror now, I'll go with  'Bama by 24pts.
