Week 6

Boston College- Virginia Tech

Tom- Is BC for real or is F$U that bad.  Bobby's boss seems to think so.  Tech

Kevin- Not exactly the nose-dive Jags was envisioning I'll guess.  Perhaps that starts this week. Shinskie hopefully only good for buying the spirits afterwards to drown out the sorrows on the plane ride home.  Hokies.

Vip- Sounds like more rain is in the forecast.  Oh, goody!  VT's previous experience this year with inclement weather in Blacksburg turned out pretty good, as I recall.  VT wins 27-20.

Paul- Fresh off of a letdown game against Duke, the Hokies return to the friendly confines and get the regular season Fredo off their back and continue their assault on the ACC.

Curmudgeon- I think it's going to be close but I choose Virginia Tech

John- This seems to be the year to do things differently - home team finally expunges that bad tasting Yankee stew

Jim- Jags who? Tech wins.

Indiana- Virginia

Tom- Who can say 'let down'?  I hate saying this but I'm not sure even algroh could screw up and lose this one.  Well, yes he could.  hoos

Kevin- algroh is delighted he now has something in common with Frank Beamer.  Both own Butch Davis.  Swofford turns down the head hoos request of playing all 12 games vs. the Heels.  Indiana loses as the home crowd raises their anxiety level as the grim reaper takes another step back.

Jay-  One thing about algroh’s teams: You never know what the hell you’re gonna get. This week’s guess: UVA but I like the Hoosiers getting 6.5 points

Vip- What can I say about the genius of Al Groh that hasn't already been chronicled by our august group?  UVA-C wins 14-10.

Ivan- mumbai vs monticello, apu vs thurmond iii, customer support vs whats-a-bios, take your pick.  dont matter, it ain't cricket. jignesh not happi. konichiwa, riginiva.

Paul- This is gonna hurt. H....hu...ho....aw hell the school from Charlottesville.

Curmudgeon- Al Groh continues his employment drive.  Hoos.

John- Hoo saw last week coming?  Not me.  Kasparov continues his reign on the chessboard.

Jim- Getting nervous, Hoos? Hoos win.

Duke- NC State

Tom- If they play State as tough as they played us, they won't, they would have a good chance.  But they won't.  Pack  WRONG!

Kevin- All the non-locals who did their best impersonation of lost sheep last Saturday night in a 3 hour traffic jam to Carter Finley should be gone for this matchup between those that know there's more than a single entrance to lots other than Wade Avenue (and some that don't charge twenty bucks to park to boot).  Duke fans won't be seen abandoning their cars or sobbing off the road while the show goes on, but they may wish they didn't bother either.  Pack rebounds off of Trinity Road (clue).  WRONG!

Jay- I’ll take State. WRONG! 

Ivan- lobos effed up my picks last week.  uked.

Paul- Duke has the talent to win this game, but NC State wins before the State Fair moves in for a couple of weeks. WRONG!

Curmudgeon- Duke may have left most of their game on the field last Saturday.  The Marine will win.  NC State WRONG!

John- The way Duke played last week, nothing would surprise me - but - State. WRONG!

Jim- Aw, why not. Duke wins.

Maryland- Wake Forest

Tom- Maryland has been playing really bad football.  I'm sure all those Terp fans are really looking forward to that coach-in-waiting who appears to be another loser.  Deacs

Kevin- Watch us all get this wrong as the Atlantic takes another direct hit.  I'll incorrectly say Wake.

Jay- Maryland is undefeated in the ACC and they even played a conference game! Go figure. Wake and it won’t be close.

Vip- Wake finds a way at home, 17-14.

Ivan- gotta keep the maytag employed... or not.  condeas.

Paul- Couple of teams living on edges. I'll go with the Deacs - mostly because they're the home team.

Curmudgeon- Maybe the Fridge is in the mist of an employmetn push also.  Maryland . WRONG!

John- WtF U Skinnerizes MD -

Jim- Who knows about the zany Atlantic? Deacs win.

Georgia Tech- Florida State

Tom- Another 'coach-in-waiting' is ready to take over.  I don't think $t Bobby is going all that quietly and besides, do you really want to follow some guy that has won MNCs?  Jackets

Kevin- Beware the wounded animal at home with dark clouds swirling all around.  GT ends Coastal tiebreaker discussions by losing. WRONG!

Jay- FSU wins because they have to, they just have to or this season is a complete wash. WRONG!

Vip- Previous Bowden death watches in Auburn and Clemson didn't work out to well for the guy being watched.   Bobby staves off the Grim Reaper with a 24-17 win. WRONG!

Ivan- saakashvili meets geronimo.  nemoslies. WRONG!

Paul- The Turmoil in Talahassee is wreaking havoc on FSU. They'll either pull it together and have a productive season or pack it in. This weekend will go a long way to determining what goes on. Noles win with a late score. WRONG!

Curmudgeon- Since Tally is in such a shambles, I'm predicting the team will show it.  GT

John- All week, Papa B's face has been on my TV, under constant attack.  That's priceless "locker room material."  Beat-down will be layed upon poor wasps.
(Which, by the way, bodes not-well for GT's NEXT opponent) WRONG!

Jim- I keep picking FSU and they keep losing. Noles win. WRONG!

Florida- LSU

Tom- I don't believe Timmy is going to be quite the same after getting his head popped but they can still win.  Crocs

Kevin- I'd rather focus on who Tech needs to win at noon rather than at 8pm.  Head injury prevails.

Jay- Tebow U in a close one over a clearly flawed Tiger team. Consider betting on LSU +7.5 points.,

Paul- The Fightin' Tebow's find a way and win a close one.

Curmudgeon- I'm tempted to go with LSU, but they have been shaky in many games.  Heck, I'll go with Bayou Boys anyway.  LSU WRONG!

John- Can Gators win without Tebow?  Will they have to?  This is the toughest call on the board.  Gators find a way.

Jim- Got head, Tebow? Gators win.

Alabama- Mississippi

Tom- Ole Miss was exposed a couple of weeks ago by the Cocks. This almost seems like it should be the RUTS game.  Bama

Kevin- Dangerous game, but a complete team wins these.  Bama does.

Jay- Bama

Vip- Is Mississippi a dark-horse SEC title contender, or are they bound for Nashville in December.  Survey says, "get ready, Music City!"  UA wins 21-14.

Ivan- misse-pisse neede nwe teethe.  diet.

Curmudgeon- I'd really like to go to The Grove for a tailgate.  Bama isn't there for tailgating purposes though.  Alabama

John- 'bama

Jim- Nutt has a history of doing very well in games like this. Bama wins.

Georgia- Tennessee

Tom- Both teams lost so who the hell knows?  Vols

Kevin- Tennessee plays great each week losing all these close games. The key is the verb, not the adjective.  Georgia wins. WRONG!

Jay- Can the Dawgs recover from a game which was stolen from them by SEC officials? It says here yes. WRONG!

Vip- UGa continues to welcome Lane Kiffen to the SEC.  Dawgs win 24-20. WRONG!

Ivan- only fools join kiffenjugend.  gawds. WRONG!

Paul- Georgia. WRONG!

Curmudgeon- I really, really dislike UT-e.  I really, really dislike Lane Kiffin.  However, I'm going with the upset.  Tennessee

John- Think Georgia gets flagged a lot Saturday?  Me neither.  Vols fall at home. WRONG!

Jim- Richt has been at this SEC thing a bit longer. Dawgs win. WRONG!

Wisconsin- Ohio State

Tom- Wisconsin comes to Columbus.  Nuts

Kevin- Not much help that axe is going to be this week, Bucky.  buckEyE wins.

Jay- that’s EZ, Buckeyes.

Vip- tOSU bucks the Badgers, 24-13.

Ivan- hate da bucknuts. redbags. WRONG!

Paul- Nuts in da shoe.

Curmudgeon- I don't like OSU-e very much either, but Tressel usually takes care of conference foes.  Ohio State

John- Probably a close game - OSU

Jim- Time to get serious, Badgers. tOSU wins.

Michigan- Iowa

Tom- As funny as this might be, I'll take Iowa.  Hawkeyes

Kevin- Would love to be wrong on this.  Hawkeyes at home.

Jay- Iowa to win, Wolverines to cover the 8.

Ivan- hate da emchikin. wakeeshy.

Paul- Michigan started out strong, but Iowa is the better team. Hawks.

Curmudgeon- Don't think RichRod quite has Michigan ready for prime time yet.  They seill can't spell DEFENSE.  Iowa

John- Iowa seems to find a way to win this year - Hawkeyes

Jim- No more Irish on the schedule, RichRod. Iowa wins.

Tom- Colorado is bad.  Texas by 33

Kevin-  I think Boise has forgiven and forgotten Hawkins.  Colorado however....  Horns by 26.

Jay- Longhorns by a smooth 34.5.

Vip- Dan is probably pining for the days in Boise.  UT-Austin wins 45-20. 

Ivan- ha! new scotch - bevo 37.

Paul- Texas by 23
